Rare Dice
November 15th, 2009 by Tirnua Luc Leave a comment Share on FacebookSome of you started to print rare objects using the printer (dice and salad bars).
So far not all object have appeared in the world. Most of the dice have, but only one of the rare salad bar has been seen.
Here are the dice that can be printed:
Again, to print a rare (only dice and salad bars have rare at this point), you need to scan the regular object (blue dice or regular salad bar), and then when printing from the resulting disk, choose the rare option.
At the end of the print, the game will randomly select the result, based on the odds of the rares. It might be that you do not get a rare at all. For example with the dice, you have a 50% chance only of getting a rare when you print a rare dice. With the salad bars, you have slightly better odds (above 66%).
If you do not select the rare option when printing, you are guaranteed that the result of your printing will be the object you selected.
Good luck with your rares,
Luc

I’m trying to make a rare dice, but so far no luck. Can you produce different colors from the same dvd? or if one on the dvd isn’t rare, does that mean that none will be rare? Also, any idea how frequently rares are produced? (i.e. 1 in 10 , 1 in 20 etc.)
And I really would love a pink salad bar, but since i bought my printer and scanner when it first came out, it doesn’t fit in there. Had the bigger ones been released at the same time, i would have bought it, but right now im still debating. perhaps others feel the same way and this is why we havent seen them?

Same here.
Can we trade it back? lol

Just curious, the dice will work in the larger scanners/printers right? so if i buy the 2×2 i will be able to use them for dice too, right?

Also, questiona about rare salad bars… will they provide more of whatever they provide because they are rare as the rare orange stands do?
November 16th, 2009 at 3:41 am
yes, you can scan and print dice in 2X2 scanners and printers. As far as the rare salad bars, the output are the same as the regular salad bars.
At present, it makes no since to eat from the salad bars since they don’t give as much energy as bananas, apples, and oranges.
I’ve never had the chance to eat a red orange. Do you get more energy from them than a regular orange?

What activity zone should we use or would be best for a property that has recycling done on it, along with the wood converter stuff? Moving my lots around and don’t want to move it twice if I don’t have to.

with the salad bars energy is not the only thing it gives so you should figure that in also!
rare oranges increase your mental cap.

True, but I think you make more filling salads when you get higher Mental, same as the buffet table in tso where you made better food if you had max cooking. Now when I have 16 in mental the food is reduced from (an example) 5.9 vitamin P to about 2.0 vitamin P. We can probably preserve the vitamins better with high mental. Correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t had the chance to test at 50 or so Mental.
Also you get more P out of your flowers if you recycle green flowers. I’m guessing it uses the RGB value of the whole plant combined or something.
My printer is broken *cry* but I’ll print some dice when it’s fixed again.
What materials does the buffet table require to make?
Dice is; 3 plastic and 800+1000 energy. So dice cost about (64/10)+40+50= 96 tau each to make, not bad.

(Scratch “buffet table” and replace with “Salad bar”, lol

WOOOOHOOOOO
Luc came over to tell silly me how to operate the thing, you know, “real women don’t read the manual”. Ofc the silly thing wasn’t busted at all.
And while he was watching ….
A GOLDEN DICE!
The really, really, really, really rare one!
Woppidoo! Haha
It’s a sign, TIRNUA ROCKS!

Yes you make more filling salads if your mental capacity is higher.
).
Look at the vitamins of the food and at 8 Mc you will ceate a salad providing less than what is listed… at 50 you will create a salad that has more than what is listed - it gradually improves from 8 to 50. If you work on getting the correct color of flowers (depending on whether you want E, M, P) then raise you Mental value before cooking, you will be able to make a salad that is quite a bit more refreshing than an orange. (unless it is one of the rare oranges of course

For the salad bar you need 3 metal, 6 wood & 3 glass + like 18000 energy.
When you eat a rare orange it gives you 8 instead of the usual 7, i did not know about the mental increase, thanks sami!
Now yet another question ( i promise this is a better one lol)
“If you work on getting the correct color of flowers (depending on whether you want E, M, P) then raise you Mental value before cooking”
Is there somewhere that tells us what color flowers produce what without having to do our own experimentation?
Also, it would be great to have some kind of list of the recyclables, like what you can recycle to get wood, glass etc. and how much it gives you of each.

They have said in the blog that green flowers = high P, red flowers = high E.
Then I’m assuming that blue flowers (if it’s based on RGB values, red green blue) = high M. Just a guess, mind you.
Some flowers have several colors in them so I’m also assuming that it calculates a new RGB value based on that… To get all the colors in the flower into the equation. Now I know I’m starting rumors without having the facts. Sorry. This is pure speculation.
I’ve started making a list of which items give what, when it comes to recyclable objects. I can post the list as far as I’ve compiled it but of course it would be even nicer if we got it from “the horses mouth” - but maybe if they tell us, it would lead to certain objects becoming very popular all of a sudden. Maybe its best left to our own experimentation. I’ll see what I have in my list when I’m on that computer
I like this “possibility to print a rare” on the printers! It makes it more worth our while to try and print things.

ive been doing some dice and salad bar for fun. It would be nice if we could sell or trade them cuz all i want is one of each but now i have like 4 red, 3 pink, 2 green…If we cant sell them or trade them i dont see the point of keeping making stuff you know what i mean?
November 17th, 2009 at 3:18 am
I know that we can give them away because I gave one to Fugly, which is more than I can say for some other rares (i.e. glitter hats). But yes, I believe they HAVE to be sellable. Selling rares is one of my favorite pastimes lol. Not to mention, it would be the only way that many people would be able to get a rare. But Cherry is right, unless you are going for a theme somewhere, you really dont need more than 1 or 2 for yourself.
November 17th, 2009 at 7:47 am
I agree, it’s fun to try this but they’re not the type of rares that people will pay a lot for. (Or do you mean they can’t be sold at all?)
Maybe there can be other rares in the future, that we can print - that not only have a different color but also different (better) functions, so they will be more desirable to trade. Or perhaps that we can try for a rare “anything” and we have no idea what item will be printed, maybe a completely new item. Or something. I like the element of surprise..

i agree with raisin and no rare cant be sold
November 20th, 2009 at 2:54 am
Just a note, I have been able to price a rare salad bar. yay! It’s kind of neat because in the shopping tab, it gets its own tab called Fancy Food. How bout making this a Rares Tab instead? That would make searching for rares easier.
