November 13th, 2009 by Tirnua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

The Best Deal - If you Become an Official Resident Before January 4, 2010 (changed from December 1st) - you will lock in a monthly stipend at $5.95 and receive 4000 extra TAU each month for free.

Click here to Buy Now or for more information. Alternatively, look for the Purchase Resident Badge button in-game next to the Buy and Earn TAU buttons.

For Current Owners of Resident Badges - you are grandfathered in! This means that you are already locked into our best deal which expires December 1st. All badges bought prior to today’s date have a Paid Up Resident status good through December 1, 2009. As well, each badge owner has been given 1000 TAU. To withdraw your TAU and deposit it to your bank account, click on your Resident Badge object and withdraw the funds (works the same as the tip jar). You may go ahead and renew your badges anytime for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months - your expiration date will be appended to the December 1st date.

Yes, Atlas get stoked, it’s finally here - THE FAMED SALAD BAR! TirNuans don’t have to live on fruit alone they can now enjoy an awesome salad. Look for more food items in the upcoming weeks.

First, you will need to purchase a salad bar and a salad processing station. They are available in a separate Food Category in the Tirnua Stores on the Shopping panel. You will also need to have some food recycling bins placed on your lot. If you don’t have any food bins you will need to recycle some flowers. Once ready, the ‘Make Salad’ interaction at the salad processing station will get you off and running.

Your mental value will need to be at least 8 in order to make a salad but you will want a much higher mental to produce salads with higher vitamin content. Mouse over the salad bar, the salad processing station and the food recyle bins to see how many servings are available and what the Vitamin Mental, Vitamin Emotional and Vitamin Physical values on each are. (Note: we discovered a bug whereby the salad bar was not accurately reflecting the correct vitamin values. We are working on a fix for it but for now - leave your lot and re-enter to see the values correctly displayed.)

Eating salad will boost your EMP values … read the label. Making salads will make you a little smarter like other activities such as completing puzzles and playing liars dice do. Learn more about how vitamins affect your energies from this prior blog posting on Edible Flowers.

New Scores Added - Carbon Footprint and Energy Mogul. Carbon footprint score - are either on the ‘good side’ or the ‘bad side’. Growing trees will put on the good side while burning wood in the boiler will lean you more towards the bad side. Your Energy score is improved by charging your batteries. All scores are accumulated with the main persona from now on. This is so we track the overall impact. Look for these scores on Score tab.

VIP Store - this store, owned by the Tirnua Main Persona, is an exclusive store for our residents. Here you will be able to buy special items or specific items at a discount from week to week. This week, purchase the salad bar or salad processing station at a discount. Here you can also take advantage of bulk discounts (buy 10 or more) and get an even better discounted price.

More in Manufacturing

  • New Larger 3D Scanners and Printers - two larger sizes for each have been added to the Manufacturing Tirnua Store. The larger printers can create the smaller ones.
  • Added print by geometry - this means one disk can print all of the objects with the same geometry. In other words, you red chair could be printed as a blue chair
  • RARE prints: scanning certain items will create rares. This week, scanning the salad bar or the dice will enable you to print rare salad bars or dice like these.
  • Added a confirm dialog on abort.
  • New Popular Search - because you asked, we went ahead and included a popular search for custom clothing stores. Now you can easily find who has the coolest custom clothing in TirNua.

Don’t forget to grab this great deal now

    Have Fun!

    1. Atlas Says:

      I love you guys! :D
And I totally had a spazz moment when you mentioned my name (or well, my username)! I feel like a movie star! 8)

Anyway, love the update! I mean it, really!
I LOVE that we will soon be able to print rare versions of items, and I LOVE the rare version of the salad bar and the dice! Pink dice are just fantastic!

Sounds like salad-making is now a winner! I remember saying ages ago that I was more of an emotional/mental kind of person, so treadmilling isn’t all really my thing… I think I’m going to have to go around and buy flowers off of people, and make salads galore! :)

I’m a bit confused on where us ‘grandfathered-in’ Resident Badge owners stand in regards to the “monthly stipend”. Do we get that 9900 TAU or however much it is? Or do we only get the 1,000 TAU? Regardless, it’s a nice bonus, although perhaps a bit disappointing if we don’t get the opportunity at the 9900 TAU! You know, since it ends December 1st and all.

Overall, I’m very impressed! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the culinary world! ;)
I’d love to see a ‘take-out’ option for salads and future foods in the future. That is, the ability to scoop out a salad from the salad bar, and put it in your inventory! It’ll appear on a tray or a plate or something… preferably all wrapped up in saran wrap!

As always, I love you guys - thanks for listening to all of us, and creating a world we can all love and love to share. :) It’s superb, really.

P.S. - perhaps certain assembled foods in the future will increase our PEM CAPACITIES? ;) I’d love to see this put into place, even if it’s a bit trickier of a process!

    2. Madoria_10725776 Says:

How do you buy a Resident badge if you can’t pay via Credit Cards or Paypal or the third option ?????
I will not be able to renew my badge after 1st of Dec since I don’t have any of those ways to pay…

I guess I will either stick to making flowers then… or stop playing.
Everything seems to be about purchasing TAU one way or another.

      Love the Salad Bar though…

    3. Atlas Says:

      I do agree, Madoria.
I myself will probably be unable to renew my badge after the first of December, by the looks of things… Although I just may be able to. It’s too soon to tell, for me. D:
I wish there were other options, though, naturally. It seems too bluntly money-motivated to limit it just to credit cards/PayPal/Google Checkout.

However, I was notified earlier that Tirnua is the primary job of all of these lovely Devs… If I was told wrong, well… No biggie… But if that’s the truth, then they’re totally deserving of our money! And although -I- may not be able to renew my Badge, I know a bunch of other people will be able to, which will only increase the Devs’ capability to devote their time to the game, and to produce bigger and better things for the good of all of Tirnua… (:

    4. Raisin Says:

Well, we’re gonna lose half of the swedish gang then since they don’t have credit cards.

That sucks. I don’t wanna lose Madoria either. She contributes immensely to the game, is one of the very best cc makers, her stuff is pure quality, she knows more about Blender than I do, she teaches me about free 3D, and we had plans to make furniture for the game together. She seriously would have continued to help the game grow, she has promoted the game on Sims1 forums. She’s one of my very best friends too.
The game will be less interesting for me as well if half of my friends disappear.

Seriously… Let people keep paying for the badge in game money, as an option. SERIOUSLY :O
People might be very interested in investing in the game, but unable to do so in dollars, no matter if they would want to or not. Some CAN’T.

I’ll comment more on the other features when I have tested them, now I’m upset because I’ll be losing most of my friends…

    5. Gertie Says:

This is so cool! I will add my thoughts later.

But I believe there is a bug in selling salads - or am I just not knowing how?
I set the price to 20 - but it is eating for free…

    6. Raisin Says:

      Note:
You can probably only withdraw the stipend on your MAIN PERSONA in the game.

If you try to hang the medal on the wall on your second persona, the medal will either be stuck in inventory, or disappear.
I believe it disappears if you “drop it outside your inventory” but not sure.

Your main persona CAN HAVE BEEN SWITCHED, I believe this happened when they distributed the second badge to the alts.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to switch back though, at least not until you have withdrawn your stipend. ;)
I don’t know how that will work.

    7. Manssom Says:

Hm… I like the salad bar. But I don’t like the fact that you will have to pay real money to keep your badge. We have many players who don’t have that kind of money, that are underage and so on. I thought the main concept in here was that it was supposed to be free.

In a way, it still is. But let’s get real, a paycheck that only pays out like 15 TAU isn’t much to hold on to. People may feel forced to become a resident beacuse of this limits and so on. I think we should only have to pay TAU for the badges, at least for a while longer. But it’s really up to you.

I feel like it’s all about money and tau at the moment, and that’s kinda sad.

    8. Cutsie Says:

This update is great devs! Love the rares, though we will see how fun they are to produce lol. I am loving the CONCEPT of the VIP store, I think it’s great that you give residents bigger discounts when buying in bulk, and I’ve already taken advantage of this. BUT, since this store does not provide all of the other objects yet, you have made it very difficult for store owners with the drop in discount on items not found int he VIP store. It was hard enough to make money before as a store owner, and now it’s been made even harder. Buying 10 items, we only get a break in tax now since the discount is only 8% and I will not buy 25 items at only 15% off. I know us store owners spend a lot of real money stocking our stores, and you will probably notice a dip in money spent this week because of the limited discounts. I know you will from me, and possibly my other store owner friends. I really hope that you do fix this!

I would like to add that I also think it’s unfair to require resident badges be bought with real money (to an extent). I say to an extent because TSO did require a monthly fee, and this is cheaper than that. I know people without cc or paypal still managed to play. But, I do agree that Madoria’s designs are great and we would hate to lose her cc clothes!

    9. Qute Pi Says:

I have mixed feelings on this.
I agree everything seems fueled by Money / Tau.
Sure residents get “more” and non residents still get to play for free, just without experiencing a lot.
But, those who will buy resident badges, use money. Then to use the features the badge allows requires more tau (money), even tho we will get some free tau with our badge.
A good note is it gives a store owner better chances to stock cool new stuff or give cheaper prices…or not have to buy additional tau…
The bad note is we store owners rely on the other players to make a profit and if none have any money it does us store owners no good.
As you can see I’ve gone back and forth all morning lol…after all we are testing the game.

I told my bf I was going to get the badge and he said “I thought you were over that game.” And I said “that was before the custom clothing.” lol So for now, that is why I’m going to invest in a badge…depending on the answer of my next question lol.

Regarding what Cutsie said about the discount on being 8% for 10 and 15% for 25, I haven’t had time to check but is that for just the VIP store or is that an overall change? (More comments when I know that answer.)

    10. Tori Says:

I love the salad bar, and the processing station, :D
However, I have to agree, every object that we are getting in the game seems to require money in some shape or form… It would be NICE to get an object that actually GIVES us money back by some work that we do on it! For example, an easel, painting picture and selling it, great object for newbies as well as us “grandfather” folk. Maybe just require us to “make” the earth-friendly paint to be able to use the easel? I’m just tired of having to pay pay pay just in order to enjoy the game …

I love this game and hate to have it be out of my life simply because I can’t afford it :(

      Thanks for everything Team, :)

      Tori

    11. Raisin Says:

Hm, where did you find out that the discounts have dropped? By testing?

      What are the discounts now?
      10 items - 8% (down from 10%)
      25 items - 15% (down from 20%)

      or?

What are the discounts in the VIP store?
I see the food items costing 349 - 799 there, and 399 - 899 in the regular store. (Btw very easy to accidentally buy the items from the wrong tab here! I would have bought them in the wrong place for sure. Can non-residents buy items they won’t be able to use?)

The old blog “Object store” still shows the same old discounts as before.

This is silly, the discounts weren’t exactly good before, and now even worse. Soon they’ll make us pay extra for spending 10 k tau on stocking something (oh wait, they already do that with the clothes!) :S

We seriously need some version notes here, I never know what has changed in this game except the big things they announce.
I am not buying any more tau, I can tell you that.
They can keep their object scanners for 30000 tau + tax… God knows how much it will cost to use the items.
      What’s happening with this game?!

    12. Qute Pi Says:

Ok I looked. At the VIP store, if you buy
10 of something you will get a 15% discount (+5% from before)
25 of something you will get a 25% discount (+5% from before)

If you buy something from the other categories
10 of something you will get a 8% discount (-2% from before)
25 of something you will get a 15% discount (-5% from before)

Why would the other categories be lowered for residents? I’ll tell you now I will not buy that much for such a small discount. Every penny (in tau form) matters. Thats just not cool.

And the V.I.P. items may change often, but its not something a store owner can rely on long term…

Ok well good thing we have till Dec 1st because I have to think about my choice. Its bad enough I have tons of puzzle c rap that I can only hope when recycled gives me something, since its useless otherwise. Lets just keep adding to my list of things that make this game not for me. I try to embrace the new features and changes but we are getting ripped off with some of the prices.

I’m really frustrated right now. Ill be back when I can talk without getting mad. lol

    13. Manssom Says:

I agree with almost everyone here. I don’t feel like playing anymore to be honest, not if the game is to be centered around tau and money. That’s not what I signed up for.

    14. Raisin Says:

Sorry if I have contributed to negativity here - I do love Tirnua but I’m just upset about the very real possiblity of losing friends. I should be quiet and not help whip up a negative feeling about the whole game while I’m upset.

      Please note:
For those people who normally will buy tau, you now will get the same amount for 6 dollars as you did for 10 dollars before.
Only you won’t have the option to choose. It is a pretty good deal. Tirnua might need that money to survive, for all we know.

I still think Tirnua is great, but I hope they adjust this a little bit. :)

It has to be worth our while. Right now we’re feeling like they want us to pay more and more and more, most of us have bought money recently to fund our CC creations I guess.

    15. FUGLY_26319 Says:

ONE QUESTION REGARDING PAYING FOR A RESIDENT BADGE. WILL WE BE ABLE TO MAKE CROSS GENDER CLOTHING SOON? I RECENTLY MADE A SECOND ACCOUNT ON THIS GAME SO I AM ABLE TO CREATE FEMALE CUSTOM CLOTHING. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IS FOR ONE PERSONA TO MAKE BOTH MALE AND FEMALE CLOTHING.

I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO PAY FOR 2 RESIDENT BADGES WITH REAL MONEY SO I CAN MAKE CUSTOM CLOTHING FOR BOTH THE MALE AND FEMALE PERSONAS IN THIS GAME.

    16. Manssom Says:

I do have a headache right now, so Im open to the possibility that Im overreacting. Maybe I should just go and make som salad…. :O

    17. Saniel Says:

Awesome! I got all the cool salady stuff ‘cept I can’t work it because my Max Mental Energy capacity is too low. How do I higher it?

    18. Manssom Says:

FUGLY, I’ve already asked that and they said that we had to switch personas for the time being, or in your case switch accounts if both your personas are male. :)

    19. CherryBomb_2700 Says:

Basically, what has happened is that the devs have surrendered and turned this into a subscription game, with an option to brute-force your way to success by paying extra cash. Personally, I like it. A subscription model gives you a lot more freedom in designing the game than a micro-transaction system, and actually turns out to be less “all about buying Tau” in the long run. All the money grinds we so dearly love will simply not fit into a pure micro-transaction model.

    20. Cutsie Says:

Yes, sorry guys for any confusion about the discounts. And let me just say again that I do love the concept of the VIP Store, but honestly, I would hope it would be fully stocked of all available items. And do the deeper discounts how they are now, just let us take advantage of the bulk discounts on everything else, and you will make us store owners happy.

I want to address the issue of being made to purchase tau. I do think the devs are taking a bit of advantage of us. And I hate to say that cuz I do love you guys, but i think most of us are tired of spending money on things that will be discontinued soon after (i.e. the nickel-iron battery chargers is one). I for one have about 20 of these, and nobody is going to want to buy them and they are pretty useless to me, since i no longer use the red batteries. I’m not sure if I mentioned it on the blog or on the forum, but we need to be able to get some of our tau back for these. i had proposed a Pawn Shop idea, where instead of sending to be recycled we can send items to the pawn shop so that we can recoup a bit of our investment. You could even sell these items in a special tab for real deep discounts (though this might hurt us store owners a little bit). Another problem is the mannequins. We can’t hardly use them anymore when it comes to cc, which of course are the clothes people are going to want since they are more unique. Perhaps if they didnt cost 350 each to start with it wouldnt be such a big deal. But these are examples with what I personally think is unfair, encouraging us to buy products that will be useless soon.

Yet another is that it seems the devs expect people to buy the new products (like the scanners and the salad bars) as soon as they come out, and then a week or two later, that product is the lowest on the totem pole (i.e. scanners). I am already expecting the same thing happen with the salad bar since it’s called a standard salad bar, i can only expect a better version to be released soon. This just makes us feel like we are being taken advantage of. It’s not that we dont’ appreciate products being made better (like the scanners), but when we dont have an opportunity to make money to afford these in game (even when we purchase an obnoxious amount of tau) it ticks us off.

We know the dev team has to make money and we expect that! That’s another reason why I and many others buy tau! But devs have to realize that we are in an economic depression and people just can’t spend the money we want right now. Not to mention, there are only a small portion of us, that do spend an obnoxious amount for tau, and it doesnt seem like we are all that happy right now. To hear that people like Qute and Raisin and Manssom and Madoria are so unhappy that they are thinking about leaving the game makes me sad, because without these friends i would probably end up leaving too.

    21. FUGLY Says:

YES MANSSOM, I KNOW THAT ALREADY. WHAT I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO DO IS PAY FOR 2 ACCOUNTS. I DIDNT EVEN WANT TO MAKE A SECOND ACCOUNT FOR THIS GAME. I DONT KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER WHEN WE HAD GENDER CHANGE IN THIS GAME, WE WERE ABLE TO CHANGE FROM A MALE TO FEMALE WITH THE SAME PERSONA. NOW IF THAT WAS BACK IN THE GAME WE WOULDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS AT ALL.

    22. Cutsie Says:

Just to clarify, I am not complaining about having to pay $6 a month for a resident badge, because i think (for me) what you get in return is ok.

    23. Cutsie Says:

Fugly, for me, I prefer personas to keep their gender. I also have 2 accounts which i created for ease of transferring objects between personas, and like you, one of my personas on the other account is the opposite gender to make cc. It does suck that we would currently have to pay for 2 accounts to be able to make cc this way, but i would prefer instead of letting us switch our persona’s gender, to just have the ability to make clothes for our persona’s opposite gender. Honestly, if we are paying for the ability to make cc, we should be able to make it for either gender.

    24. Witchy_28472491 Says:

is it not possible for us to pay for a resident badge with the TAU we earn in game? many of our younger players will not have credit cards and i am not able to use mine to buy TAU bcos its used in another game occasionaly…i only have one CC and dont want to keep another…any ideas welcome :) but thanks for the salad bar which i think is great and thanks for allowing us to have so much say in the game and for actually ..listening.. to us.

    25. Groovybear Says:

I play another game in browser that is very similar in many ways, on this game you can become a VIP. You pay $7.99 a month to get all the extra VIP stuff and are able to have that title by your name that you are a VIP. Most of my ex-tso friends that play that game pay their monthly fee, because of the perks and to me as well they are worth it. However….you also have the option to purchase your VIP membership using in game “gold” so you never have to pay real money for it. I know of several people, including children under the age of 18 that play this other game and that is how they get their VIP status. If you play this other game on average of three hours a day and do the “jobs” they have you can easily pay for your membership in a month, granted you don’t get any added gold when you pay this way.
I still have not decided on rather or not I will pay monthly for Tiruna. But more probability then not I will pay the monthly fee to get the extra perks. But an option should be in place to able to pay in game would be nice for the people that can’t for whatever reason pay with real money. Now on the other hand I don’t like paying for a game that is so attached to facebook, makes it almost seem like a facebook application.

    26. Qute Pi Says:

      Regarding what Cutsie said:
“Just to clarify, I am not complaining about having to pay $6 a month for a resident badge, because i think (for me) what you get in return is ok.”
      I agree.

What makes me frustrated is all the other things they play around with and don’t mention in the blog the details. Version notes as raisin mentioned would be nice. We don’t get that because they know I will act out on the negative points. lol. :P

Plus I hate FB…and they rely on it so much. I’d like to know the real value of forcing us to use FB.

And yes they sell us c rap that will be useless later.
I want to hear from them if there are plans to allow us to place CC on mannequins…instead of spending weeks guessing.
Or if they are going to add more stuff to the VIP store so we shouldn’t get all upset about the discount at this point.
Or if we are gonna get more recycled material based on price of item, instead of the same 1 material for an $80 item as you get for a $500 item.
Or the reason they introduced puzzle stuff when its pointless unless you want to give your tau away. (They could just say you fell for another useless discontinued item)
Or if we are going to be able to make both gender clothing without having two accounts, especially if both of our personas are the same gender.

These are the things that frustrate me most. My mood changes so often I don’t know where I stand right now.

    27. Manssom Says:

Iv’e made some salad now :O It was fun omg :O

    28. CherryBomb_2700 Says:

After thinking on this some more, I am a little concerned about the stipend. 4000 Tau is well over $4 a month in game currency, and giving such a large and permanent advantage to one group of players will tend to unbalance the game and make it more difficult to recruit new players in the future. I know that if I was thinking about joining a game where they existing players would always get $4 more in game currency than I did, it’s something I would consider.

    29. Raisin Says:

      About the gender change:

I wasn’t here when you could do that.
But for making clothes I would love it if we were able to choose a model instead of “ourselves”.
The model could be switched to male of female model, and we could choose to show it with any of the clothes / skintones in the game. Also with any of the clothes in inventory or on my persona.

      Reason:
      - Gender: Sometimes I wanna make male clothes and still have my name on them (not Bodil’s)
      - Skintones: Sometimes I wanna make clothes for darker skintones, like when I make skin colored clothes
      - Clothes: Sometimes I wanna make a picture of the persona in the clothes - and for a gold colored dress I wanna wear the golden high heels, but I don’t want to spend 500 tau on buying every possible shoe in the game
      - Clothes in inventory: In case I’m making a set and want to take a picture

      Groovybear’s example:

A game where you can buy the VIP pass for real life money (and get a stipend) OR you can choose to pay the VIP pass for game money, in which case you don’t get a stipend but you can still play and be a Resident.

I think the stipend possibility would appeal to most people, while still keeping the game free. Everyone who CAN get the stipend would of course do that, since it is a very good deal.

I also think we (of course) should be allowed to have as many characters as we wish, as long as we’re paying in RL cash.
If there should be any restriction placed on that it should be on free accounts and/or accounts that are paid with game money. Some people just like to play multiple people, I for one have 2 accounts on wow (one of which I will most likely slaughter to afford to play this game, if any of my friends remain).

The feeling of being “used” for cash in the game

I think many of us are feeling this right now.
      For me it’s this:

      1. The 3D printer / scanner.
I bought it for 13000 tau and then I realised that, not only did I waste that cash, but if I created more items with it I would lose even more cash.

      2. The Battery Chargers
You introduced a new battery charger and there I am with 20 of the old chargers, now useless. Can’t you upgrade the old chargers so we can use them with any battery instead? Or let us turn in the old chargers and receive new ones for what the cost difference is between them.

      3. The CC clothing
Too expensive and too few people to buy them off us. Lower the prices, 700 initial cost and then 200 per outfit max.

      4. Introduce a “floor tile” for tip jars
Make a floor tile thing where anyone can place a tip jar. Make a new tip jar that is on the ground.
This way a person can perform with jokes or dancing or something on a public lot and people can tip them.

You need to get our “trust” back… That’s my opinion at least…

    30. Raisin Says:

      Some good things too:

      - Thanks for the link to all CC stores, it was fun to go around looking at all the things there. I would never have looked in BONKERS FOR BANANAS for cc clothes otherwise. ;)

      - I also like the Energy mogul / Good/bad carbon footprint. It can be a start towards the ideas about being a good guy or a bad guy.

      - The salad bar, no comment yet, it’s probably more filling if the person serving the salad has high Mental.

Bug fix: salad bar was not charging for salads correctly. It is now correctly paying the owner.

The store discount was meant to be consistent across the board for residents; hopefully, fixed this week or next. This means the discounts will be consistent for all stores. As to discontinued stuff, in particular the battery harness, we wanted to make sure the new ones worked. The new ones have been in place for a week or so… feel free to put that stuff in your stores. I’m sure someone will buy them …. :)

As usual thanks for all the feedback!

    32. Alana Says:

I am really sorry for the kids and the ones with no CC. There has to be some way around this, talk to your parents. You can use PayPal with no credit card and link it to your checking account. I do think charging real life money for the resident badge is a good idea. The reason why is because exploiters will not get them for free. Before the next batteries come out and you all get upset because you will not be using the current ones you are using. They have told you in their own way that there will be at least 3 additional types coming soon (5 in 1 chargers). My suggestion is to be patient and wait for the best ones to come or enjoy what you have now. The smaller batteries are not useless and I would probably buy them from people I can stand (even though I have at least 30 of them already). That is if I keep playing. My reasons for being frustrated have more to do with the attitudes of players rather than anything the developers have done (except favoritism). I would like to suggest a free one time gender change for all current accounts and that option at a price later on. Then the people that were warned about this can change one of their personas gender as they were suggested to do in the first place. I can not find a free game online anywhere. All the games that are advertised as free are no fun unless you pay extra. They all give extra benefits to people willing to pay their wages. It was pretty lousy that they came out with a new scanner so soon after releasing the first. And it does stink that none of the items will ever pay for themselves. If you are lucky enough to get any insider information from the developers or you know anyone that is. You would have heard about platinum batteries when the first ones came out. Bug fixes would be nice to know about. Like the switches now being fixed and you can use them to let only friends or the owner into your lot while allowing others to enter and look at your shtuff and chat with you. Without going through the trouble of buying the expensive items to set up entry ways using the cube controllers.

I really like the salad bars and they are reasonably priced.

    33. Qute Pi Says:

      I think I’m calm now. :|
      Gonna get the resident badge.
Please let us show our cc on mannequins because people can’t see what the back looks like with how its shown now.
      Thanks.

    34. FUGLY Says:

      *snip*

AS FOR ME, I ENJOYED HAVING GENDER CHANGE IN THIS GAME, I HAD A LOT OF FUN WITH IT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT COME BACK IN GAME AGAIN. FOR THOSE WHO DIDNT LIKE IT, THEY DONT NEED TO USE THAT OPTION IF WE GOT IT BACK IN GAME.

    35. Cutsie Says:

Regarding Alana’s and Fugly’s last comment.

That being said, I do not agree with Fugly about gender change, but I like Alana’s idea. People should be able to change their gender though it should be semi-permanent. I did not like it when people were back and forth changing their genders in game, but that may be cuz i like the familiar. But if they were a girl for 6 months and then decided they wanted to be a guy, let them, perhaps for a fee like alana suggested.

OK Alana, back to you. Did you understand my complaint about the batteries? i was talking about the chargers not the batteries themselves. but you do bring up a good point, kinda bring us back to the main theme of the blog comments. They already know they are going to release 3 more batteries, so why not just release them all at once? we are left to feel that they are being released the way they are to make us spend more money. you are right, we could wait. but if you are printing things you want the more powerful battery.

a thought though… the nickel-irons chargers are a good fit for the 1×1 scanners since they only require 800 energy, though i am not sure what the larger scanners use.

oh and billybob, thanks for clearing up the discounts thing…phew!

    36. Manssom Says:

I can totally understand both sides in this. In my case, I don’t really care. Im happy with how it is right now, all I have to do is switch persona and give some TAU to the other one and then start creating. The only bad thing that I know of is that the clothes sometimes get stuck in the inventory when you sell them back to your other persona. I did that because only one of my personas owns a store, but I got a lot of help from Sarah and she suggested that both my personas maybe should “own” the store, in that way you wouldn’t have to send the clothes, or in this case, sell them cheap to your other persona first. :)

But the easiest thing would ofcourse be if we could create both womens and mens clothes no matter what gender out persona has. That is my opinion ;)

    37. Raisin Says:

      About the discounts:
      Agreed: “PHEW!” :)

Greg, perhaps you could post a heads up if there is a bug like that again, it gives us the heebie jeebies.

If the batteries are really made “one batch at a time” on purpose, that’s a slap in the face imo.
I’ve bought money twice to stock - you guessed it - batteries. Do you mean I’ve spent 30 dollars on something you’re gonna make worthless before people buy them off me?
I’m not a rich person you know. I’ve chosen a lifestyle where I’m constantly living on the margin financially. If the game continues to make me stock 25 batteries at a time for 14000 tau and then renders them worthless in the next patch, I’m not gonna have time for this game. If you developers are actually doing that on purpose, to scrape up a few more dollars, you’re not creating a sustainable game or fan base. You’re not earning trust.

With that said I will ofc keep playing, but I want it to feel fair. Money might not be worth anything for you, but when I invest in Tirnua, it means a lot for me. It is a HUGE vote of confidence when a person who has to look at every penny, buys cash from you. It should not be taken this lightly by you, and just shrugged off “sell them in your stores, some fool will most likely buy them”.

      About showing cc on mannequins:
Agree we could have that option, but it shouldn’t be the only way to show them.
There is also a slight problem with the game showing our personas from above - the clothes don’t look the same when you’re peering right down the cleavage all the time. :p

Would be nice if we could rotate the model while making the clothes to see what it will look like “from above”.

    38. Tirnua Greg Says:

Hi. I just trimmed the thread some. I apologize if I cut too deep - but let’s please stay on topic.

BillyBob (aka me) forgot to answer someones question about raising mental capacity: the boiler, liar’s dice (M&E), and finish-line for puzzles are a few of them.

And thanks so much for all the feedback!

      greg

    39. Nisse Says:

I’m still a bit shaked about what I have read… Hopefully it is not going to ruin me. :p

    40. Raisin Says:

There are a few things I would need answers to, regarding the Residency. So I can make some decisions.

(And no I’m not leaving - I still think Tirnua is an amazing game - I love it. :)
There’s no way I’m leaving. I’m convinced it’s gonna be fantastic and I want to be there when even more fun things are introduced!
This is a unique game as far as I’m concerned, it’s the only game where the developers actually LISTEN to the players. I’m sure they will listen to our opinions in this matter as well, then we will see how much they can do about it - real life is often more complicated than we understand if we’re not involved in the decision making.
I regret sounding so harsh in my opinions but not because I’m wrong, I’m dead right, but because I think I influence people too much sometimes. And the last thing I wanna do is hurt this game. And now I would want to influence everyone to keep on going, keep making cc, keep enjoying the game. :))

I could ask this privately but it could be good if everyone knew, too, so I’m asking here.

      My questions:

      1. If a Guest owns a house, can they set it for “Residents only” and if they do, will they be able to enter their own house?
I suppose they won’t be able to use the Salad bar, or the boiler?
But the people on the property will still be able to use the items even though the owner isn’t a resident?

      2. If a person is now a Beta resident, and pay for 1 or 2 months. Let’s say they pay for December and January, and then they can’t afford to pay for resident in March. What stipend will they get if they pay for resident again in April?
And what if they pay for resident again in April a year after?

      3. Same as question 2, but the person (a beta resident) doesn’t start paying in December. They start paying in April.

      4. Are the personas / accounts stored for a long time even if the person doesn’t log in? Is there any guaranteed time they will be stored?

If there are any answers to these questions I would be very grateful for them, and if there aren’t, perhaps you can investigate and get back to me later.
      Thanks!

    41. BillyBob Says:

First, the boiler and salad bar are available to everyone. The VIP store and most custom content related things will be resident only. Some upcoming privileges will be resident only. The game will be playable by guests and residents alike. Also, as we progress we hope to have contests and events which will provide additional opportunities.

      1. I don’t fully understand the question. A guest should not have the option to set their lot to “resident only” but if it somehow gets into that state I believe they will still be able to access it. And they will be able to use their objects.

      2. A person who is a beta resident OR a person who buys a resident badge are in the same situation. First, the price and stipend are locked-in regardless of continuity of the account. Skipping months will not effect these badges with regard to price and stipend. Note: We will be tracking ‘active resident’ time and there will be privileges tied to the number of days active and, we reserve the right to NOT do this for FUTURE badges. The only thing I can think of that would “destroy” these badges is a banned account.

In all the scenarios you describe the person would get current price and stipend.

      3. The beta resident has locked in the price and stipend so if the first time you renew is not until April, say, you will still get the current price and stipend.

      4. As of today we do not have a dormant account policy because as of now the plan is to never delete a resident account or badge (except in the case of banning in which case it won’t be deleted but will no longer be accessible).

      Hope this helps.

      greg

    42. Raisin Says:

Thanks! I pretty much got the answers I was hoping for there - that the account is fine even if we must skip a month or so and I love the fact that they won’t be purged from the system now and then, such as they were back in the day.
      Sounds good to me.

    43. Malachi Says:

I don’t get how my carbon footprint can be so huge. I’ve harvested tons of trees and flowers, but have only really used up about 5 or 6 racks of wood in charging batteries in the wood to energy conversion set up …yet I’m up in the top ten in bad carbon footprint. Guess that presents a dilemma…..make energy or stay green…somtimes like in the real world out here.

    44. Qute Pi Says:

I lost all my good carbon footprint and gained some bad by getting rid of half a pile of wood. Are we going to get cleaner ways to dispose of wood, and all the other items?

    45. Sundance Says:

I think the new resident badge is a great idea……my question is do I have to buy 2 of them for both my persona’s on my one account? How will that work?

    46. BillyBob Says:

Yes. There will be more energy sources and some will be greener than others. However, many sources will be faster, cheaper, and not green.

The resident badge is for the whole account. Both persona share the same badge.

      greg

    47. Qute Pi Says:

why do i have 3 bad carbon footprints listed and one good?
      bad 5
      bad 200
      bad 55
      good 180

How do I read that and understand what it means? lol. :)
      How can I improve it…

    48. Atlas Says:

Some Personas have almost spam-like lists of Bad Carbon Footprints… It’s really distracting!
Isn’t there a way they can all be calculated together into one figure so that way it’s not running off the screen and looking fabulously messy? :P

    49. Tirnua Luc Says:

Qute Pi and Atlas. I am investigating… I will hopefully fix it by the publish this week.

    50. Tirnua Luc Says:

Ok, I believe I fixed the duplicated carbon scores in the game. tell me if that’s not true

    51. Qute Pi Says:

      Looks fixed Luc, thanks!

    52. Sweet Sim Says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH for adding the “CONFIRM” on ABORT…

…this is an especially helpful feature for a certain airhead who had to totally redo a red chair on the eve of the first scanner/printer update while a bunch of devs did their best not to strangle her… THANK YOU, GUYS, FOR LETTING ME LIVE!!! (and thank you, as always for all your help and support… love you guys)…xo.
