Tue Fashionistas!

Fashionistas with new outfits again today, Tuesday :D

Our photographer just took another sweep around TirNua snapping everyone wearing a new outfit that incorporated user created designs. Here are the pics!

**Tip for all you models: rotate to the side a little before clicking Save Changes when you get into your outfit. That way the poses won’t be so similar in all these pics :)

Ariel and Gertie I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR DRESS AND NECKLACE!!!! Who designed the outfit?

  2. Atlas Says:

I said the same thing on FBook, Sarah! lol
I’ve no idea who made them, but regardless… they’re fantastic! We finally have an in-game dress, for the first time since the red sun dress days! :P
It’s so exciting to see what people come up with! :) I’m thrilled someone figured out how to make a dress-like ensemble!

  3. Atlas Says:

P.S.: It’s delightfully reminiscent of Bella Goth… Perhaps she wore something like it in her youth?

  4. Qute Pi Says:

    Raisin made them

  5. Manssom Says:

Yes, Raisin made the dress =) The top looks great with jeans to :)

This is fun :D It’s one of the best features in the game ever!

  6. Ariel Says:

    I LOVE the dress too!

Sarah this has never worked right for me. To get it to work at all I have to rotate really fast after hitting update and before it registers. If I rotate and click update it puts my persona facing forward in all the pictures. I do not know if it works for other players but it never has for me. I usually race the update to turn her but I am just not in the mood lately. I am really interested in knowing if this is just a problem with me or if others have the same problem. I believe this is why some people can not open their gifts that you are supposed to perform that to open.

  7. Qute Pi Says:

Ariel, it does the same to me.

  8. Gertie Says:

Yes, Raisin made this fabulous red dress!

But actually Madoria made the first in-game dress! (The first CC day actually) I have a pink dress and Nisse has a Black dress.
Unfortunately Nisse changed outfit just before logging out, otherwise she would have been in the picture as well!

Keep up the great work on designing friends!!

  9. Gertie Says:

PS If you love it buy it! ;)

  10. Gertie Says:

BTW, could anyone design something to go with the Gucci purse in green that me and Lolly is wearing?? ;)

  11. Gertie Says:

Feels like I am talking to myself, or just having a hard time figruing out what exactly to say…in ONE comment.

I was trying to give Madoria cred for making the first dress - I am sure someoneelse had the same idea at the same time. We just didn’t see it.
MarieDK for instance! I just bought her 2 pcs dress in dark red with silver threads! One of the first as well I believe! :) It is beatiful!

  12. Qute Pi Says:

I was just noticing the lack of new players with CC on…Is that due to the price and lack of tau?

  13. Gertie Says:

Unfortunately not many new players are wearing CC, no. Most of CC is about 350 - 400 which doesn’t differ from some Originals, so it shouldn’t be the only reason.
I believe, the main reason is ppl do not always find the players stores! They buy their first new outfits from the Tirnua Clothing store…

As Atlas (I think it was) said, not all read the forum and not all read the blog. I for instance just realized the other week that the good stuff is on (in??) the blog!

I guess we all need to visit the lobby as often as possible like living mannequins to make people ask “OMG WHERE did you buy that beautiful top??” :)

  14. Raisin Says:

Woah, thanks everyone for the praise for the red dress! :)
(Actually a tank top and a skirt, the tank is nice with blue jeans too)
It turned out really well. I was playing around with making part of the tank skin colored to make it look like an original mesh (so unfortunately I only have it for light skin atm).

I think the new players can’t find the clothes.
It’s also a bit too expensive for them, I really want the prices to come down for us shopkeepers.

It would be great if you could add a search in “Popular Searches” such as the one for “Food”, except for “Custom clothing”, that would list the stores that carry custom items.

  15. Atlas Says:

Speaking of food… Aren’t we finally getting the famed salad bar and fruit drinks this week!? :o :P
I’m so stoked if we are… If we aren’t, well, no biggie! There’s always next week.
That’ll probably be my favorite update EVER. I’ve missed my home cooking! :(

Ahem. Anyway! LOL, Gertie, you totally had a conversation with yourself there! Absolutely hilarious. :)

Great job on the dress, Raisin! Very creative making a skin-colored part in order to “create” a new mesh! :) I totally love it!
P.S. - You should really design an outfit for Gertie and her Gucci purse! You two are so funny…

HERE’S AN IDEA I JUST GOT WHILE READING GERTIE’S COMMENT ABOUT LIVING MANNEQUINS!!!

Perhaps we can “rent” out a mannequin in the Lobby? ;)
It would work as such: an empty mannequin is situated in the Lobby; when you hover over it, it says ‘Vacant’ or something. Clicking on it gives you the option to ‘Advertise a Look’. Up pops a Persona pop-up where you see your Persona and a list of available outfits to the right. You select a top/bottom, optional accessories, and BAM!

Maybe there’ll be an option to have your outfit ‘link to’ your shop (in other words, the pie menu for a visitor will be to ‘Visit Shop!’). Another good idea for an option is to ‘Buy Now’. Both should be accessible to the seller, depending on their preference; if they want to attract buyers to their store and perhaps pick up more business, great. If they just want to sell this garment or they don’t have a shop, fantastic. Both options are open! And you should also be able to choose both.

PLUS, you should be able to display others’ garments/link to their shops as well! There should be a hover-tag that says who designed it (the actual clothing maker - per garment), and who assembled the outfit (in other words, who’s paying the rent for the mannequin, and who put the garments together to make an outfit). All of the proceeds should go to the designer for now, although perhaps a percentage should go to the assembler somewhere down the road, when there’s more of a market for fashion-coordinating as opposed to just making clothes?

Anyway, I just got a sudden creative burst, and thought I’d share that idea with you. :P

Whoever’s renting the mannequin should be able to stack as many layers of the outfit as they’d like, and, depending on how long they rented it for/how long it takes for all of the outfit copies to be sold, their garment will continue to be advertised. Perhaps, for now, we can assume there’ll be anywhere from 5-10 mannequins on the Lobby lot, and perhaps a two- to five-day renting period limit/max?

This way new(er) clothes will be featured somewhere public and new user-friendly, as well as helping shops get customers!

I really loved thinking up this idea. :) I hope you all enjoy it!

P.S.: You lovely Devs should totally tell me to major in something like marketing, or communications, or… something… that way I can come work for you! I’m going off to college next fall, so be sure to nag me! ;)
Lol, this would totally be my dream job… And don’t think I wouldn’t come relocate in California just to work for you! I so would!

  16. Raisin Says:

    Atlas :)
    It’s a very interesting idea.

Two things pop into my head when I read this:

1 - In Star Wars Galaxies we had little robots, like R2D2-types. We could “program” them with a text (ad for the store somewhere out in the desert on Tattooine or whatever) and put them somewhere where a lot of people passed (the Coronet “space port”). The little robot would stand there as long as it had power, and shout out the ad we had written in it.

2 - In TSO towards the end we were thinking of new marketplaces in the game.
One idea that came up was a huge market where people could rent little sections and sell items.

How about if we would implement your idea with special (robot?) mannequins (that run on energy we’ve stored?) and then we would be allowed to place our mannequin in the MARKETPLACE. They could make those things that people now can place garbage on, and instead we could place our robot advertising mannequin.

There could be different sections in the marketplace too. One section could be a FARMER’S MARKET, selling produce and food. In the future there could be a LIVE STOCK MARKET selling our price winning pigs and/or pets. There could be a YARD SALE section too with furniture (cc furniture that is). Also cc backdrops.

The marketplace would only be for custom items or items produced in the game through food growing, animal breeding, custom clothing, custom furniture. The items wouldn’t have to be placed on the Marketplace lot “physically” but the marketplace would be sort of a visual link to the person’s own store. Similiar to the auction houses and automated vendors in other games, but not just made as a text interface but somehow made as a real market place where people could walk around and look at the various things. When they want to buy, they could be whisked off to the store in question.

Personal stores would still be needed to store everything, and catalog items wouldn’t be advertised through the marketplace.

The marketplace could also have a stage for performances, a few of those “Save the world”-pizzagames and whatnot. Stuff that would make it a more interesting place to hang out than that boring Lobby where there’s nothing to do except ask if someone is interested in touching your butt.

  18. Qute Pi Says:

    Thanks for the warning Queen.

  19. Malachi Says:

While fashion and clothes do not generate much excitement for me, I do appreciate the creativity by all who are involved. Way to go, Tirnua staff and my fellow Tirnuans!
