Track & Monitor Your Carbon Footprint

Tool to Manage Carbon Footprint

We have a new tool for you to track and monitor your CFP on a day to day basis. On the persona web page, a tab has been added for CFP.

Here you will see your daily and monthly history as well has your base and accumulated CFP on objects you own. To find out more about how base and accumulated CFP are calculated refer to the help panel and search for Carbon Footprint (read about new feature below).

Everyone can see everyone’s daily and monthly readings but only each individual will see their own object CFP. The CFP panel will display which objects you own that have the best and the worst CFP.

No More Overwatering Plants

Have you been finding yourself locking up your home to prevent newbies from over watering your plants and crops and killing them on you?

Well, fret no more, you no longer need to worry about yourself or anyone else killing your plants by over watering them. They can’t be over watered! Of course, your plants will still die if they are not cared for by not watering on time.

We are testing this out to see if this helps the social scene in TirNua. We realized this might be one of the reasons so many lots are closed to the public. We are looking for ways to make TirNua more social and as usual we are looking to our players for feedback and other suggestions on this topic.

Search Help Topics on Help Panel

Search on any word or topic for search results to be displayed.

Fixes/Updates

  1. Timing on the Boiler has been tuned. Charging batteries will be considerable quicker.
  2. Create feeds on your friend’s feed stream. Design it on the persona web. Design your own feeds as well.

As usual don’t forget to check out the VIP Store for the hot deal of the week.

  2. Renee Says:

    YAY! No more over watering!!

  3. Ian_69098822 Says:

Also I love this CFP monitor! :D Omg I have been wanting something more indetail!! :D

  4. Simone Says:

    No over watering is AWESOME!!!!!

There was an oil spill in the grove I do not see mentioned. New dirty lot backgrounds.

  5. Simone Says:

That over watering caused a lot of us to not accept some friend requests. We had to be able to trust the people on our list to not harm our plants. :) This is so great.

  6. Freedomdeep_32394 Says:

Wowzers!! *dances* that is so awesome! Thank you team! Yay for no over watering =)

  7. Raisin Says:

Awesome, a picture of Larry. Forgot what his toon looked like. Haven’t seen it for so long.

Also, check out the Orchards - there’s an “oil spill” or something. We have a new awesome background, polluted lot!
Could use some help cleaning my orchard then… :P

I wonder if this affects our plants, but I guess not?
Is it in the plans, if it doesn’t? Polluted orchards could affect the plant life there if not cleaned up fast enough.

    The new feed is hilarious.
I kept spamming it, in case someone noticed.
I was the person stuck inside the printer and needed help getting out. Nobody came. :(
So that can be used to broadcast events maybe?
The trouble is that those feeds get lost in all the other feed spamming.
I suggest a feed like that should stay on screen for a longer time than the other feeds, and be on top, or something.
And that we could put in a lot link in it so people could click it and come over?

The new cfp thing is great, now I can finally find out why I have 600 roses and where. Or wait, no I can’t actually, since it only shows the top 100 objects of all my 40000 or something objects. I guess that’s since listing all the objects would cause too much lag. I would prefer to be able to see all, and be able to search it. That might be technically impossible.
But it’s a nice thing to have anyway. I like it.

    The over watering:
Knew it would be good for the game to enter that lot dressed up as a noob and turn on his sprinklers.
(Just messing with you. It wasn’t me!) ;)

  8. Simone Says:

Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose. ;)

  9. Des Pirate Says:

Some things arent registered on my CFP and they are higher then the things listed…. I wonder why.

  10. Raisin Says:

    Okay a bit negative:

I have 3 people on my friends list right now, SPAMMING trash machine, biofuel making and boiler.
Those events create way, way, way, way too many feeds. They create one feed every time the machine does something, such as one feed for every 0.10 trash that is processed I guess, etc. So the spam from these 3 people running their 6-9 boilers each right now is terrible. The bubble is on the screen all the time. It’s really necessary to cut down on those. Only one per session.

  11. Gracie Says:

Great update! Love the new CFP panel and information. umm…Was there an accident involving a garbage truck in the orchards? I have spillage everywhere. Yay for no overwatering! Hope to see more doors open!

  12. Simone Says:

The plants do not get over watered. They still say “No need to water again yet. You do not want it to get overwatered.”.

  13. Cutsie Says:

I hate to say it, because I myself own like 20 lots, but I think to help the social scene we would need to limit the number of lots per player and maybe have some exclusivity as to what lots can do. I know in “that other game” I was forced to go to other lots whenever I needed to do a certain thing, bring up a certain skill, etc. But perhaps the easiest way to help the situation would be to introduce more group objects. We have been saying this forever. I understand the oil thing is a group object, but I’ve never used it since it is supposed to be bad for your cfp, and i can’t afford to get mine any worse right now. Think back to when Liar’s Dice was popular. People were gathering all over the place. In addition to fixing the wells, how about fixing the treadmills so that if someone is on the treadmill, the battery charger can’t be disconnected?

  14. Raisin Says:

    Gracie;
“umm…Was there an accident involving a garbage truck in the orchards?”

No, it was a ruptured pipe. Some big oil company. ;p
After the pipe ruptured, a bunch of hoodlums came over and crashed a Volkswagen on the premises, drank 4 bottles of wine and tossed them somewhere, demolished an oil derrick, painted something and left the paint, drank some german beer, strangled the fish, read a lot of magazines and then went back to coding.

  15. Raisin Says:

    Cutsie;

I see your point but I don’t think it gets solved by just letting us own 1 or 2 lots.
I think that would be terrible, we wouldn’t have anything left to pursue in the game - we’d continue making money and not have anything to spend it on. We’d sort of hit a brick wall after playing for a while.
I really like the “infinite” in this game, for as long as possible I want to keep that.

Sure we will probably have to choose… But I don’t want us to hit a brick wall with the choices, if you see what I mean.
We should be “mildly encouraged” instead of “forced” to choose. We should get a reason to choose.
It wasn’t any different in [other game], you could still sit on your store lot reading about cooking, it just didn’t progress very fast. We were encouraged to go somewhere else but not forced. And only being able to own one lot was NOT a good solution in my opinion. I really don’t want this game to resort to that. There are so many better ways to achieve the same thing.

I’m always talking about us needing “new challenges, new rewards, new goals”. Reason being that people get sick of doing the same thing over and over with no new goals or rewards. We saw that with the oil. Even though we shower players with cash, it gets old for them.
Chatted about that and realized I was partly wrong.
It’s more of a sandbox game and not a game where you achieve.

What we need is group play. Group play is its own reward. But we also need a goal for the group to strive for.
We saw that with the birds… Everyone working together to achieve a common goal, to clear the lot from pollution.
It has brought the community together.
Now we need to transfer that to farms, orchards, stores (omg did I say that?), factories, kitchens, puzzles, minigames, jobs.

So for example for a farm lot -> If we are several people working together on the farm we should reap benefits that single player farms don’t. Gracie has suggested we get a lemon tree for group farming. I would want multiplayer farms to unlock new seeds or new ways of doing things. Maybe objects that have to be run by several players. But not boring objects like the oil. Not tedious clicking forever and ever. Something fun like running a machine.
Something that makes the roomies form a “team” that works together.
Tedious clicking should be made into jobs.

Orchards -> Paying other players to harvest the fruit. Make an object that is CLEVER. The players have to be able to modify what the object really does. Or make it “object oriented” for lack of a better word. Maybe have several parts that can be combined in different ways if it’s an orchard, a factory, a farm or a store etc.

We also need a way for players to “need each other’s specializations”.
A store would need factories and work force.
A factory would need suppliers and work force.
A farm would need other services etc, maybe seeds, and work force.
We need a chain. We need work. Specializations.

    Another awesome suggestion we discussed, not all my idea;
    Mansions should be Resident only.
They should have access to much cooler backgrounds too, and many other benefits.
And a mansion should be the ultimate goal for a player.
I’ll try to formulate all this into concrete suggestions.

But we do need both more group play and a goal for the group play, and I really think we have to have a way to become successful in the game, an easy way to see what earns success. Not just to become “famous” or “infamous” through your behavior on forums or in the community. That type of fame sucks and feels somewhat unhealthy.

Did the blog forget to tell us about the rapidly decreasing Mental and Emotional energies?
Is that a bug or by design?

    Info:
Coffee - raises your Mental value (+3 mental +1 phys)
Strawberries - raise your Emotional value (+3 emotional +2 phys)

Maybe it’s done on purpose to create a demand for coffee and strawberries?

  17. Cutsie Says:

Raisin, i do agree to a point. i am in no way saying to limit us to just 1 or 2 lots (i think i would die) but maybe we should get a couple of formats to choose from and only be allowed lots in those categories? i really don’t know. the bird cleaning has brought a few people together, though i happily clean birds on my own lot, mostly alone unless others pop in to help.

i do like the option or incentive like you mentioned about the other game. we kind of have that with the orchards with picking times, and stores with tax rate, though again, there is nothing to make me go onto another lot if i own one of each type.

  18. Cutsie Says:

oh and you are right about the MEP values, audrey confirmed it.
