Gift your TirNuan Sweethearts and a new Vignette!

St. Valentine’s Day Holiday Store Collection in Shopping Panel

In preparations for the upcoming holiday, we have started a Valentine’s Day Holiday Collection. Look for more items coming next week. You can also find these items in the Gift Store so you can gift all of your TirNuan sweethearts out there!

We are pleased to bring back some of our Valentine’s Objects from last year. Better grab them while you can because they will only be offered for a limited time.

Let’s Get Social - Do you have an admirer in Tirnua? Are you an admirer of someone? Send them a Vignette from the Gift Store.
In timing with the Holiday, we would like to re-introduce Vignettes to you. Vignettes are fun interactive gifts that you can send to someone. When a player receives one, they place the item on their lot and click on the interaction. They are swept away to a place where the interaction plays out and your personal message to them is revealed. The owner of the Vignettes is only one who see the interaction and it can be played over and over again.

Last year we brought you the “Friendly Kiss”, “Sweet Kiss”, “Hug” and “Dip Kiss” Vignettes. This week we have added a new one, “Spank Me” which plays the “I’ve Been Bad” interaction. Look for this cute bear object in the Gift Store and surprise a fellow TirNuan with this unforgettable Vignette gift.

Garden flowers now age and die just like in real life

What you need to know about Grooming

  1. When they get old and start to die you will see them beginning to wither. And just like in real life you can now take care of your plants to extend their life expectancy. You will discover a new ‘Groom’ option on garden plants’ interaction menu. As long as a plant is full grown you can ‘Groom’ it.
  2. Grooming will improve the health of your plant so that when you over water or miss a watering it will not be as likely to die. And if you Groom when a plant is old and dying it will extend the life of the plant.
  3. It is important to have a good Green Thumb score. If you have a very low Green Thumb Score, Grooming will not have a very big impact. TirNuans with high Green Thumb scores make very good plant Groomers and can extend the life of their plants as much as 4 times their natural life span with multiple Groomings.
  4. The current set of garden plants, Geraniums and Gladiolus, have a life expectancy of approximately 2 weeks. You can see the Health, Age, and Life Expectancy of plants in the Check Vitals dialog.
  5. Grooming requires a Mental Value of at least 15 and will increase your Mental Capacity while decreasing your Mental Value.

New Fruit Cart Drop On

When the Fruit Cart Drop On is placed on a lot, it allows another player to place their fruit cart on it. Look for it in the Miscellaneous Store under the Functional tab.

Fruit Cart Updates

  1. Buy fruit functionality has been added. Players, like the Tirnua carts, can now purchase fruit with their cart (up to max… each cart currently holds 50 crates).
  2. To use the cart to buy fruit, you must add money to the cart. The cart will purchase fruit from players as long as there is room and there is enough funds.
  3. Sell fruit now places the money into the cart rather than going directly to the own.
  4. Confirmation dialogs will be displayed on buy and sell.
  5. Check, add, withdraw funds actions have been added to the fruit cart.

Thresher Object Update- the Thresher object now allows other players to use your Thresher. All they need to do is supply their own plants and seed bags.

Don’t forget to check out the VIP Store for the hot deals of the week!

Lastly, for those of our players who remember that our weekly publishes were usually on Wednesdays, we are planning on resuming that schedule.

    Awesome! *thumbs up*

  2. Atlas Says:

I love this update. SO much of it is just, well… fantastic. I love it! :)
Glad to see the new Spank Me vignette… I hope people send me some, because I expect I’ll be among the first that come to mind when they see this blog post!

LOVE the cart update, LOVE the thresher update, LOVE that we’ll be getting updates on Wednesdays once again!! :)

For a while there it was Thursdays, and now it’s sunk to Fridays… Wednesday is always an EXCELLENT time to push an update, because it’s Hump Day (as in, the grueling middle of the week; to my knowledge people don’t go around rubbing up against one another on Wednesdays in specific), and everyone needs something to look forward to in the middle of an awful week! :D
Plus, well… If you do end up having delays on pushes, now you have Thursday and Friday to re-fall back on! I personally don’t mind late updates here and there, as long as the Twitter us updated to tell us so. ;)

Anyway, I have to say I love this update. I’m especially adoring the Valentine’s stuff, especially the chair and the little bear and flower vase! Amazing… Just amazing. :)
Also, these flowers will only live for two weeks…? Eek, well this sucks. :( Shouldn’t plotted plants survive longer than potted plants? :?

I’d like to see a composting process next. It just popped into my head, and it seems like a good idea; if we’re to have things die around us, why not just put it all in a compost bin, and when it’s all nice and composted (let’s say it’ll take 48 hrs for an entirely-filled compost bin to be perfectly composted), we’ll be able to fertilize our plants with it!
And depending on your Green Thumb score, the fertilizer will possess certain qualities. The higher your score, the longer the plant that’s fertilized will live. Let’s say that at approximately 100,000 Green Thumb, your plants will be able to live for six months straight.

It’d be nice to have this compost idea, because I know I’d be one to buy home-grown fertilizer from users! We need more game-produced products, because that’s what helps our community get a tad more interactive… And maybe people will even team up for big composting jobs, and have an entire lot filled with compost bins rather than orange trees. :P

I don’t know, I’d love to see it, personally. But I’m weird like that.

  3. Atlas Says:

Ohh, and also, if a potted plant is included in the compost, let’s say that 75% of its P/M/E values will be maintained and thus be transferred to the fertilizer… Meaning that this fertilizer can then be used to grow geraniums and gladioluses that produce generic food!

Of course, maybe it should only be 25% maintained… And maybe 75% will be maintained if your Green Thumb score is at 100,000.

Just spewing out ideas here!! I take it that potted plants aren’t officially in the life and death cycle yet? I hope they will be…

  4. CherryBomb_2700 Says:

:) Now I can sit back and watch what happens to the fruit market. I have a feeling that setting out your own fruit carts to buy and sell would work better than setting drop spots, but we’ll see.

  5. TirNua Dominic Says:

Big thanks to AUDREY for the Valentines day objects, she has been working hard to get them in-game in time ! amazing job .. Thank you so much. :)

  6. Raisin Says:

    Atlas;
Too bad that if I send you a “Spank me”, you’ll be spanking me instead of the other way around.
Otherwise I think a spanking is long overdue for you. ;)

    I like the update!
I’ll place a thresher in the house now, that’s great. Maybe you could introduce some “larger” variations of the thresher and other objects to be used on community lots. That way a person could have their own little thresher, recycler etc but if they went to a community lot with a BIG machine (well reasonably big, lol) they would get some special benefits from that. Benefits that wouldn’t stop them from buying their own but could be fun to use sometimes. Just a thought to make people less “independent” and more “social”.
Or perhaps have the larger thresher only for Farmer’s markets or something, and the seeds it yields would go straight to your sales cart. Seeds aren’t tradeable now, but maybe they could be sellable only from a sales cart. Or something.

Love the compost idea Atlas. That would be great for ground plants.

  7. Marmelade_34834447 Says:

In regards to grooming I only can say: “OH BOY, NOT MORE WORK!!!” We definitely now need a sprinkler system to keep the flowers alive!

  8. Cutsie Says:

Great update guys :) My one concern is bringing the old hearts back. These were one of our only rare items, and lots of people loved having them for that. If you were gonna bring them back, it should’ve maybe been in a different color, IMHO.

  9. Sweet Says:

    …as usual, you guys ROCK!… thanks… :))

  10. Angela Says:

Nice update. I do have a couple suggestions:

In the future when an item has been removed like the hearts, they not be brought back. I myself have sold those “rare hearts” for 700 TAU. Bringing them back now is not fair to the users that purchased the “rares”.

When we water our plants can we get an increased green thumb score like the facebook feeds say we do?
Some of us water on a daily basis but do not harvest. Ellell had sunflowers he kept alive for months and then one day they died. He got a negative impact on his greenthumb for the months of work put into the sunflowers. Now the survival of our plants depends on our greenthumb scores. We should get an increased greenthumb score for watering, fertilizing, grooming, sowing, harvesting and anything else we do to care for our plants.

I hope you keep these suggestions in mind for future updates. Thanks for all the new items to play with. :)

  11. Angela Says:

OOPS I meant I sold the hearts for 7k.

  12. FUGLY Says:

THIS IS A GOOD UPDATE, I DO LOVE THE SPANK ME BEAR TO GIVE TO KIDDOS, I HAVE SENT OUT SOME ALREADY TO A FEW LUCKY SIMS AND I HOPE THEY ENJOY THEM. I ALSO LOVE THE IDEA OF BRINGING THE HEARTS BACK FOR KIDDOS WHO WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOME. I LIKE THE IDEA OF SELLING OBJECTS FOR A LIMITED TIMES DURING THAT HOLIDAY SEASON AND SUCH AND BRINGING THE ITEMS BACK THE NEXT YEAR FOR THAT HOLIDAY SEASON.

  13. Raisin Says:

I think the printers have been tuned.

  14. CherryBomb_2700 Says:

Tuned up? Tuned down? If the electricity costs are down a little, it would make manufacturing viable and ease my mind about the bulk-purchase design. Just a little down, though!

  15. Raisin Says:

    Slightly down I believe.
At least the item I’m making now.

  16. Raisin Says:

    Oh btw a suggestion:
Maybe we could get a quest, for the older players.
We could have a quest to find all the variations of gladiolus/geranium!

With that there would be some sort of list of which ones you have already found, and either (greyed out) the ones we haven’t found yet, or the total number of variations we need to find (for instance, 50) so we could keep track of where we are in the quest. And so we get confirmation that the quest is working and going forward. That’s something that is lacking in the current quests. Maybe some sort of “Congratulations, you have discovered a new variation of Gladiolus!” message onscreen, when you find one you haven’t found before.

The reward for the quest could be something people really want - such as watering your plants faster.
(If you can’t implement that immediately, maybe you could start with the quest, and then do a check later to see who has completed it at a certain date.)
And you could get a “plaque” on your persona web that you have found all these, just like you get the Founder, Babelfish and Resident plaques.

Something similar could be done for finding all the rare items when printing.
Might lead to people printing a lot of some items of course. But still.

There could also be a “World First” thing done - if a player finds the worlds FIRST “leopard spotted angry hyena gladiolus”, that would create some sort of automatic ingame message that everyone in the game could see! Or the first person who gets the pink treadmill.
On Facebook you could have a score list too, that lists who got every single item for the first time in the game.

I think this sort of thing would make people more anxious to try the new features and the chance to be number one on these things.
It would be a boost also for the sales of flowers, since maybe some variation can only be found by harvesting another rare, and so on. Then we could sell the rare flowers we’ve found, for a lot more, which would give a boost to the economy / rotation of money between players.

  17. Angela Says:

Quests for the older players would be nice.

  18. Raisin Says:

A problem with the orange cart.
It doesn’t seem to be intuitive how to use it. I’ve had at least 5 players come and place their oranges on the cart, and leave.

The options are “Buy” and “Load Fruit” and they don’t understand that they should “Load fruit”.
Maybe you could change that to “Sell” instead.

Also, when they place fruit on the cart, we will accidentally take that fruit when we refill our fruit stands (if we’re not careful).
So maybe we shouldn’t be able to do that / or the fruit could disappear when the person leaves the lot, or they might lose their fruit.

  19. Raisin Says:

(Perhaps when they place the fruit there, a dialog could pop up, “Do you want to sell this fruit?”)

  20. CherryBomb_2700 Says:

Nice balancing on the printing, guys. I think that is just about right, from what I have tried so far.

I DONT LIKE IT SRRY OK
