Repo’d Lot, Lot Name and Persona Name Leases
January 27th, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on FacebookRepo’d Leases - when the lease term on your lot, lot address name or persona name has expired, you will receive a series of email notifications informing you that your lot, lot name or persona name lease is about to expire and be repossessed. If you do nothing, the object will be repo’d.
To renew your lease, simply place the lot deed, lot name or persona name plate on your lot and select the ‘renew’ interaction when clicking on the object. You will be given the option to renew for 3, 6, or 12 months for lot leases, or 6 or 12 months for lot and persona names.
What happens if your lot deed has been repossessed? You will have a 60 day grace period to renew it. To do this, go to the ‘My Stuff’ tab and select the ‘Renewals’ sub-tab. Here you will find your expired deed. You can choose to renew the lease or abandon the lease. If you choose to abandon the lease, the deed and lot will be deleted and any objects on the lot will be returned to the respective owners. After the grace period has expired, the deed and the lot will be deleted and any objects on the lot will be returned to the respective owners of those objects.
What happens if your lot or persona name expires? The name will immediately become available for others to purchase. There is no grace period for lot and persona names. So be sure to renew if you want to hang on to them!

To purchase a Lot Name or Persona Name - select ‘Tirnua Names’ under Popular Searches on the Shopping Panel. Select the item desired under the Search Results. Click on the item and search for the desired name from the popup dialog box. You will be informed as to whether the name is available or not. If available the dialog box will display the lease price and give you the option to purchase a 6 or 12 month lease term.
To apply a Persona Name - go to the Dress Me tab. Under the Dress Me window look for ‘Name:’, you should see your current name here. From the drop down list below you name, select the new name to apply it.
To apply a Lot Name - from the lot to be re-named, select the lot info button.
From the popup dialog box select the ‘Rename’ button. A list of your lot names will be provided to choose from. Select the one desired and then select the ‘Set Lot Name’ dialog button to apply it.

I would like the possibility to set the lot deeds on “automatic renewal” (check box or something).
The houses in SWG worked that way: As long as there was money in the “wallet” of the owner, it would automatically deduct the monthly maintenance cost of the house. When the money was all gone the house would be destroyed. This would be good, since I can imagine the horror of someone who didn’t know about this and took a few months break from the game and didn’t check the email inbox. Or if someone got hospitalized for a long period of time.
Can we pay in advance? Maybe for several years ahead?
It’s probably not a big deal right now if the lot is destroyed, since you get to keep the items on it, but it will be worse when we have better building tools and the house can be great looking or bought from an architect.
Would also be great if we could sell back a lot or name before the time was up. Sometimes you’re forced to change a name, for instance if you use the house for some other purpose.

WHEN AM I GONNA STOP GETTING EMAILS TELLING ME THAT I GOT AN INGAME MESSAGE? I DO NOT WANT TO PUT TIRNUA ON MY SPAM LIST JUST IN CASE YOU GUYS SEND ME AN IMPORTANT EMAIL. BUT THOSE EMAILS ARE FILLING UP MY EMAIL BOX AND I FIND IT ANNOYING.
BESIDES, WHO’S IDEA WAS IT TO SEND AN EMAIL NOTIFICATION FOR EVERY TIME WE GOT AN INGAME MESSAGE? THAT IS ONE OF THE STUPIDEST IDEAS I HAVE EVER HEARD OR SEEN DONE.

Actually I like the notification because if I don’t sign on I will still know that someone left a message and to check it. I’m sure its great to bring newbies back, maybe we should start emailing the newbs that haven’t come back since the first day they tried it lol.
Maybe you can set it for us to opt out of receiving notifications…
But we also get a notification in FB…and for me who hates FB I do actually like that feature. Now if only they’d do something about tracking our money. I have no idea what I sold over the last 2 days that made me some tau…so I can’t restock it.
Anyway, what I was gonna say is what’s more annoying than that, which I meant to report last night but forgot why I opened IE and then just closed it to catch up on the office so I never did…
I am getting emails in the From Tirnua section of the in game messages, for people who are buying the resident badge. There are about 25, none of them to me. I can send a pictures after work if you want, since I already took it but must have spaced out lol.

I’m getting the same Resident Badge messages as Qute is; I forgot to mention them, but I noticed these appearing over this past weekend… So it’s not just you, Qute!

Really, though, it’s kind of nice to see all of these messages about Resident Badges… Makes me happy to see that we’re no longer the only ones who like this game.

lol thats true, it is nice to see, maybe there could be a “Resident List” or something…
Glad its not just me…I sat there for like 10 minutes “Why did I open IE, what did I want to do?” and couldn’t remember. Then it hit me when I read Fuglys message. lol.

Here is another vote for turning off email notification of in-game messages. Even better would be giving us the option to turn it off if we want.

Qute Pi - thanks for letting us know about the in-game messages on the resident badge purchases. We were unaware of this. It will be fixed in our next push. Great idea for the resident list and re: the email notifications for in-game messages, I personally am with Qute Pi on this one… BUT, WE ARE PLANNING ON AN OPT OUT FOR IT - IT’S JUST A MATTER OF TIME!
